Writing Activity 1
Make a timeline of the events covered in George vs. George. Put the major events of the American Revolution in order.

Activity Summary and Rationale
There are a great deal of events that occurred during the American Revolution. In this activity, the students will have to place the major events of the American Revolution in order. I chose this as an activity because the order of the American Revolution events will help the students understand the overall sequence of what happened during the American Revolution. This activity will help see how certain events led to others and how crucial they were in defining the American Revolution. A timeline shows the students the overall chain of events and be able to see the bigger picture. Making a timeline will help the students realize how all of these events were defining moments in the American Revolution and the birth of our great country USA.

Activity Summary and Rationale

Writing Activity 2
The American colonists were furious at King George for the taxes he placed on the colonists. What if I (the teacher) taxed all of you (students)? Imagine starting tomorrow, I declared a lunch tax and everyone had to give me part of your lunch for the tax. How would you feel about that? You saw the American colonists started protesting against the tax. How would you start a protest to show your dislike of the lunch tax? Create a plan for how you would protest against the lunch tax. make posters, other students, absences,etc....

The students read about how taxes was a cause and the beginning of the American Revolution. The learned facts that had significant value to the American Revolution. Writing activity 2 involves facts about the taxes of the American Revolution and apply it to a more modern adaptation. This activity is a scenario that forces the students to use what they learned and apply it to a situation that could happen today.

They saw a picture is worth a thousand words. Describe what is happening in these two pictures and explain the significance they have on the American Revolution.

Activity Summary and Rationale:
In this activity, the students will have two pictures in front of them. These two images are major events that happened in the American Revolution and covered in George vs. George (colonists protesting the tax acts and the Continental Congress signing the Declaration of Independence. The students will look at the pictures and describe what is happening and explain the importance that it has on the American Revolution. They will see the images and be able to tell why it is important when talking about the American Revolution and George vs. George.
