Poetry Assignment
We will be reading the song/poem Yankee Doodle. This is a song/poem about the American Revolution. We will read through it and explain what it means. Then the students will add on to Yankee Doodle and write more lines to the song/poem. Be creative and add on to Yankee Doodle. I will have the lyrics printed out so the students can read the words.

There are numerous examples of poems/songs about George vs. George and the American Revolution because of the importance that it has to our history. You can create or find poems about any major event covered in George vs. George and The American Revolution.
